There’s nothing worse than putting on a new pair of tights, only to pull them up 20 minutes later and find that your fingers have gone straight through.

Ladders and holes are the bain of everyone’s life. No matter how hard you try to nonchalantly pull them off, no one gets away with laddered tights after they’ve left high school.

Which is probably why we should all start investing in Sheerly Genius.

It says that it’s created a ‘rip-proof, snag-proof, life-proof’ pair of tights, made from the same fibres as bulletproof vests.

The ‘ballistic grade fibres’ are apparently up to 10 times stronger than steel and as a result, the company promises that their tights will remain snag-free for at least 50 wears.

Thanks to a ‘complex system of knitting techniques’, the fibres ensure no runs while remaining soft to touch. Oh, and they’re also non-toxic, anti-bacterial and ultra lightweight.

There’s just one snag; they’re not currently available to buy.

Sheerly Genius are still crowdfunding to get into production, and their Kickstarted campaign still has 48 days to go – despite the fact that it’s already raised over the initial target of $25,000 (£18k).

But you can pre-order a pair now for $79 (£57) to have them in time for Autumn. Sure, that sounds quite a lot but think about it – you literally only need one pair to last you…indefinitely.

Alternatively, you could just wait and hope they come over here soon and in the meantime, grab yourself a pair of Heist tights which are incredible. Crazy durable, amazingly comfy, not as expensive (£19-24 a pair).
