If you’ve got a whole load of old clothes taking up valuable space, you might want to head to Harrods.
Because fashion label Vetements is curating a window at the Knightsbridge store, and it’s going to be made up of old clothes.
Vetements is known for subverting the fashion industry’s way of doing things and from today, it’s going to cause chaos at Harrods.
Designer Demna Gvasalia did a similar thing at New York department store Saks’ last July and as he did then, he’s now asking both employees and members of the public to donate old clothes to become part of the display.
The installation takes a stand against fast fashion and textile waste.
Anyone who contributes via the clothes bank displays fixed to the exhibition walls will receive an exclusive Vetements Harrods wristband made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
And any proceeds will be donated to the NSPCC – a charity partner of Harrods.
Over the course of the year, Demna hopes to run 50 more of these installations around the world.
The VETEMENTS HARRODS installation will run from 8 February – 2 March at Harrods on Brompton Road, SW1X 7XL.
