A woman was rushed to hospital with head injuries after she was run over by a traveller racing at Appleby Horse Fair.
The woman was seen lying on the floor after apparently being hit by a horse and carriage during the event in Westmorland, Cumbria, yesterday at around midday.

A witness said the race involved around 15 travellers who were constantly going up and down the road.
It looked like a girl had tried to cross the road and shed been hit and was knocked unconscious, they told the Sun Online.
She was knocked out cold. She had a head injury and had been cut above her right eye and there was blood coming from it.
The lad stopped for a second before legging it.

North West Ambulance Service confirmed it had taken a woman to hospital following an incident but did not reveal the extent of her injuries.

A spokesman said: We were called at 12.33pm today to reports of a collision between a person and a horse. The female was taken to Cumberland Infirmary.
A teenage boy was also apparently injured after falling off his horse in a separate incident earlier in the day.
He was also said to have been knocked unconscious.

As many as 40,000 people are expected to attend Appleby Horse Fair over the weekend, with 10,000 of them being travellers.
The event started on Thursday and ends on Sunday.
