Never in her wildest dreams could this 15-year-old tourist visiting Buckingham Palace imagine where her life would take her.

But 22 years after posing for this photo on railings outside the palace, Meghan Markle has officially become a member of the Royal Family.

Princess Charlotte steals the show while shy George hides behind his father

The throwback snap of a teenage Meghan taking in the sights of London with friend Ninaki Priddy is perfectly poignant on the day of her marriage to Prince Harry.

Meghan and Ninaki were royal fans getting their first glimpse of the monarchy during their trip to Europe in the summer of 1996.

And the image is even more remarkable when compared to photos of Meghan standing at the altar next to Prince Harry.

Meghan followed royal tradition by wearing a tiara – choosing a Queen Mary filigree bandeau tiara loaned to her by the Queen.

In the absence of Meghans father Thomas, who is recovering from heart surgery at home in Mexico, Prince Charles walked the bride down the aisle.

Harry beamed a loving smile as he saw Meghan in her dress, and the brides mother Doria Ragland appeared to have tears in her eyes.

After becoming husband and wife, the couple shared a kiss on the steps of the chapel, underneath a floral tribute for Harrys mother Princess Diana.

They then took a 25-minute ride in a horse-drawn carriage through Windsor.

More than 100,000 people are thought to have lined the streets to celebrate with the happy couple.

The new Duke and Duchess of Sussex, whose titles were announced on Saturday morning, will have their evening ceremony at luxury Frogmore House, within the grounds of Windsor Castle.
