Nando's is launching halloumi fries

Nando’s has long been many people’s go-to for a chicken fix.

Everyone has their order down to the finest detail – from spice level (lemon and herb or hot?), to salt preference (peri-peri or regular?) to sides.

For many people, one of those sides will always be a couple of slices of halloumi, the Cypriot cheese that the world adores.

Now, Nando’s are making dreams come true by combining two of our favourite sides (chips and halloumi) into one – halloumi fries.

You get five squeaky hot baes, and they come with a side of sticky, sweet chilli jam, and will be priced at £3.70.

If that wasn’t enough good news for one day, they’re also making vegetarian dreams come true by introducing a new veggie dish, the Veggie Cataplana.

The Veggie Cataplana consists of chargrilled veg, chickpeas and beans, in a fiery, rich tomato and coconut sauce, and is served on spicy rice and sprinkled with toasted coconut shavings.

It can be yours for the sum of £6.45.

Despite sounding vegan, this new veggie dish isn’t vegan, so not one for our plant-based pals.

Both new dishes will be available at Nando’s around the country from Tuesday (27 February).

Last year, the chicken champs birthed two new veggie burger options, both of which can be made vegan by opting out of mayo.

In January, they launched mini sachets of their peri-peri sauces for takeaway customers, which is, quite frankly a legendary idea.

They’ll sit nicely with the bottles of Perinaise you can buy in supermarkets, hey?
