Teenager found stabbed to death in home on Christmas Day named

A teenager stabbed to death in her flat on Christmas Day has been named as Parwin Quriashi.

The 19-year-old victim was found by police and paramedics shortly before 1.30pm in the home she and her partner were understood to have moved into just two weeks ago.

Parwin was reportedly discovered after neighbours spotted a six-year-old child crying and distressed in the car park of the building.

Mohammad Qoraishi, 27, appeared in court today charged with the murder of Ms Quriashi.

Police said Ms Quriashi suffered significant injuries and confirmed she had died at the scene on Tuesday.

Qoraishi was arrested on suspicion of murder, and after he was charged on Thursday, appeared by video link before Medway Magistrates Court.

Wearing a grey jumper, a bearded Qoraishi did not enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.

Emergency services were called at 1.18pm on Christmas Day to a property in London Road, Kent Police previously said.

Qoraishi, of Maidstone, was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on December 31.
