Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has insisted he said stupid people and not stupid woman in the House of Commons today.
He was seen muttering something under his breath during the final PMQs before the Christmas recess, with many accusing him of using sexist language.
Mr Corbyn flatly denied it, claiming he was actually saying: Stupid people.
Video footage of his response has gone viral, sparking a furious debate in the Commons, with Tory MPs demanding he apologise.
I referred to those who I believe were seeking to turn a debate about the national crisis facing our country into a pantomime as stupid people, he said.
