A mother has revealed her anguish at watching her daughter waste away due to a crippling phobia of eating.
Grace Daw, 12, has lived with the fear of choking her whole life, and has severe difficulty eating anything outside of her unusual diet of crisps, ice cream and jalapenos.
Mum Janine, 48, says that Graces condition has become so severe that doctors have warned it is only a matter of time before her organs begin to fail.
Grace can take up to 40 minutes to eat each mouthful and anything which requires chewing will see her rush to the toilet and vomit.
The schoolgirls weight has dropped to just four stone and she has to be fed through a tube which goes straight into her stomach, called a mic-key.

Mum Janine told the Sun: Last year I was over the moon because she ate two chocolates from her advent calendar.
Shes incredibly pale and has dark circles around her eyes. She just constantly looks ill. I just feel completely guilty.
Ive exhausted every avenue. I just feel completely hopeless.
Graces inability to keep food down started as a newborn when she would instantly throw up after breastfeeding and bottle feeds.

Just months after having the mic-key fitted, doctors discovered that she had ALPACA syndrome – a rare congenital heart defect where the heart doesnt get enough oxygen.
Medical staff believed that the condition was behind Graces food and choking problems and at nine-months-old she underwent open heart surgery.
However, days after the gruelling eight hour operation, Janine noticed that Grace still had no interest in eating.
Doctors have since been unable to remove her food tube as Grace is only able to eat a palm full of food a day due to her phobia.

A number of psychologists believe that she suffers from pseudodysphagia – a chronic fear of choking – but Janine said nobody has come up with a solution.

The 48-year-old has been forced to quit her job as a fitness instructor to become Graces full time carer.
Its not anorexia or bulimia. Its been a constant battle all her life to be heard, Janine said.
In a bid to save her daughter, Janine has decided to up her daughters night feeds and has also enrolled on a childrens mental health course at college to find answers herself.
She said: Im studying hard so I can understand the eating phobia as nothing has worked for Grace.
Thats how desperate its become.
This has a knock-on effect on my other kids too. Im watching my family fall apart in front of my very eyes.
