Drivers who get too close to the vehicle in front of them could be caught out by Britains biggest speed camera which is able snare tailgaters from half a mile away.
Police have released footage from The Long Ranger to highlight how easy it is to spot a reckless driver among the traffic.
A Ford Transit van driver was caught tailgating a smaller Nissan in front of them on the A417 in Gloucestershire where the camera is being trialled.
Tailgating, meaning a driver is not keeping a safe distance between their vehicle and the one in front, could result in drivers getting a £100 fine and three penalty points on their driving licence.
If a serious collision happens as a result of tailgating, it could even result in a driving ban or prison sentence.

If you are being tailgated dont be tempted to drive under the speed limit to teach them a lesson, and never repeatedly touch your breaks, it will only increase the risk of a collision.

Just stick to the speed limit and let them pass when it is safe to do so.
Its not just tailgating that the new piece of tech is picking up on, the speed camera caught over 1,200 people speeding in its first month of use.
Police say it could have generated around £250,000 in fines.
Other offences recorded using the camera include using a mobile phone behind the wheel, vehicle plate offences and people not wearing a seat belt.
The Long Ranger may be on trial in Gloucestershire, but police say it could be moved around to catch offenders on any road in the country.
They say that as well as enforcement, the camera has also helped them to find stricken drivers.
Officers have assisted 10 drivers who broke down and another 10 who needed help in the last month.
