A thief who stole a charity box has been jailed after a quick-thinking witness tripped him up.
Joshua Starkey, 23, can be seen in CCTV footage grabbing the British Heart Foundation box from the cash point at a Subway at the Hull Paragon Interchange before running of with it.
Unaware of what happened inside the sandwich bar, a passer-by can then be seen sticking out his foot, which causes Starkey to crash to the ground and drop the box of cash.
Starkey was handed a 16-week prison sentence at Humber Magistrates Court on 19 November.

Police praised the heroic man who managed to stop the thief from getting off with the donated money.

PC Paul Hobman said: A huge congratulations are in order for the courageous member of the public who quite literally stepped in to prevent Starkey from stealing money which was intended for a good cause.
Starkeys actions in attempting to steal a charity collection box were disgraceful and I am pleased the judge imposed a prison sentence. I hope that his days of offending are behind him.
The incident took place around 10am on 25 March this year.
Starkey can be seen in the video approaching the tills before snatching the box, which was chained to the tills.
He forcefully pulled it free, which caused the cash register to slam to the ground.
He then ran from the shop, with the chains dangling behind him.
Starkey ran from the scene but was later identified and charged with criminal damage and theft from a shop.
In addition to his jail time, Starkey was also ordered to pay £85 costs.
