Amazon are being accused of ruining Christmas after sending out thousands of gifts without packaging to hide whats inside.
Packages across the UK have been arriving ahead of the big day next month with nothing but a delivery sticker on the original box.
The move, which was rolled out in Europe earlier this year, aims to reduce the amount of cardboard used with frustration free packaging.
However the scheme appears to be causing frustration, rather than ridding it – with one mum claiming her child no longer believes in Santa.
Taking to Twitter, she said: Gee thanks Amazon. Now my daughter has seen her Christmas present and has told me she “knew Santa wasnt real all along”.

Another added: Come on guys, stop sending our presents in original packing and spoiling the surprise!
All year loads of cardboard and now when we need it you send in original packaging.

Advertising the move on their website, Amazon said: Amazon Certified Frustration-Free packages are recyclable and come without excess packaging materials.
The product inside is the same, and everything is included in the Certified Frustration-Free Packaging that would be in the original manufacturers packaging.
These packages are usually dispatched directly to you in the original packaging.

Despite a number of products having a button customers need to click to turn on the frustration free packaging, Amazon added that in some rare cases, the option is already turned on and you need to deselect it during checkout.

Customers who do not de-select will be sent their item without Amazon packaging.
