Manhunt under way after bicycle hit and run leaves woman fighting for life

Detectives want to speak to this man after a woman was left fighting for her life by a hit and run cyclist.

The 56-year-old victim remains fighting for her life in hospital on Wednesday evening following the crash on Tuesday.

She was crossing Kingsland High Street in Dalston, east London, when she was knocked off her feet by a male cyclist.

The man fell off his bike and stopped, but then rode off a few moments later and abandoned the bike.

Scotland Yard has now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to about the incident, which happened at 5.07pm on Tuesday.

DC Darren Case said: This is a shocking incident that has left a woman in a life-threatening condition in hospital, whereby the suspect in question fled the scene.

Weve now issued the image of a man we are seeking in connection with the incident, and Im urging the public to take a look at it and get in contact with us if they recognise the man.

Additionally, I would like to reiterate my original appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident, or the cyclist feeling the scene, to come forward and tell us what they know.

The bicycle, a Specialized electric-assisted mountain bike, was later found abandoned in Approach Close in Stoke Newington, north east London.

No arrests have been made.
