Hunt for man who sexually assaulted elderly woman while posing as council worker

Police are hunting for a man who sexually assaulted an elderly woman outside her own home after claiming to be a council worker.

The 83-year-old woman was in her driveway when she was approached by a man unknown to her who said he worked for the council.

When she asked the man, who was in his thirties or forties and of dark complexion, for identification he said it was in the car and went to retrieve it.

He returned from his vehicle and sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing in a silver or grey car.

The shaken pensioner, from Stoke Poges, South Buckinghamshire, sustained minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: The incident took place at about 2pm yesterday.

The victim, an 83-year-old woman, was approached in the driveway of her home by a man.

He told her that he was from the council, and when she challenged him for identification, he said he would return to his car to get it.

Shortly afterwards, he came back to the victims driveway and sexually assaulted the victim. He then left the scene.

The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident, but did not require hospital treatment.

The offender is a man with a dark complexion, aged in his thirties or forties.

He is of average height with short hair, and was wearing a grey t-shirt. He was driving a silver or grey car.

Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Scott Messenger, said: This was clearly a traumatic incident for the victim, and she is being supported by specially trained officers.

This type of offence is rare, and a team of officers is investigating the incident.

Members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are carried out.
