A nurse on an acute critical ward has been fined £350 for parking at work despite money coming out of her wages for a space at her hospital.
Nicola McGarr, who is a ward sister at Manchester Royal Infirmary, received five fines from Parking Eye while working different shifts earlier this month.
She already pays £32.70 a month from her salary to fund her parking every month.
She said: This was added stress I didnt need. Weve got mortgages to pay and getting thrown these letters through the post is not acceptable.
Even if our parking permits run out – every month without fail it comes out of our wages so it shouldnt make a difference.

Nicola emailed her manager to say her staff permit was due for renewal and contacted Parking Eye to ask them to repeal the penalty notices.

The firm said there was a delay in permit renewal by the trust and insisted they had not received an appeal.
They have agreed to cancel all the fines and the hospital Trust has apologised and vowed to review policy.
But Nicola, from Droylsden, says getting the unwanted mail has been stressful and claims other staff have become so annoyed they are now getting lifts to work from relatives.

She added: I know a number of staff who get lifts with their husbands now, they just dont want the hassle.
This needs to be highlighted, its not fair.
A spokeswoman from Parking Eye added Nicola had received multiple penalty notices because she had not renewed her permit and there had been a 15-day gap until it was reinstated by the trust.
A Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust spokeswoman said: When we are made aware of such mistakes we cancel Parking Charge Notices (PCN), apologise to staff and update the systems to ensure that the error does not reoccur.
We apologise for any distress caused to the member of staff for the erroneous issue of multiple PCNs, and will review our policy to limit the number of PCNs that are issued to staff within a particular time period.
