A murder probe has been launched after a 23-year-old man died in hospital a week after being stabbed.
Police believe the victim, who has not been named, was attacked by a gang in south east London last Monday afternoon.
He was taken to hospital, but never recovered and was pronounced dead earlier today, almost exactly a week after the incident in Bermondsey.
Police are appealing for witnesses as what is understood to be the 76th murder probe launched in the capital this year got underway.

Paramedics and police were called to a residential address on Lucey Way in Bermondsey at around 6.20pm on Monday June 11th.
The victim was found at the address suffering from stab injuries.

He was taken to a south London hospital in a critical condition, and was pronounced dead at 11:20am today (MON). A post-mortem will be scheduled in due course.
An investigation has been launched by detectives from the Mets Homicide and Major Crime Command.
No arrests have been made at this stage.

Detective Inspector Ian Titterrell, who is leading the investigation, said: At this early stage, we believe an altercation involving a group of males began outside Helen Taylor House in Linsey Street.
The victim then took shelter at an address on Lucey Way after being attacked.
He added: We know there were a large number of people in the vicinity at the time of the attack and I am appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
