Boy, 14, charged with murder after stabbing

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a man who was stabbed to death on the streets of Chelsea in London.

The teenager – who cannot be named for legal reasons – will appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday over the death of Mark Fontaine.

A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on 4 June on suspicion of murder remains in custody at a north London police station.

Emergency services were called at about 10.20pm on 30 May following reports of a stabbing on Cathcart Road.

Mr Fontaine, a 41-year-old from Walthamstow, died at the scene about 40 minutes later.

The cause of death was recorded as multiple stab wounds.

The defendant appeared at Highbury Magistrates Court on Tuesday and remains in custody at a north London police station.
