The piece is likely a gift from her new husband as his mother left her jewellery collection to her sons Harry and Williams future wives.
In a letter of wishes, Diana said: I would like you to allocate all my jewellery to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it.
I leave the exact division of the jewellery to your discretion.
Diana was pictured wearing the blue ring to an auction of her own wardrobe in 1997.

Harry got behind the wheel and drove Meghan, in the passenger seat, the short distance from Windsor Castle to Frogmore House, the location of the evening reception, which is also on the Windsor estate.
The silver blue vehicle, a Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero, was originally manufactured in 1968 but has been converted to electric power.
