Paramedics were tending to the child and had their blue lights on as they took the patient to A&E.

In a statement, North West Ambulance Service said: It is really sad that we have to once again report a mindless act of vandalism against our staff.

An emergency ambulance crew was undertaking a blue light transfer of a paediatric patient and whilst driving through Salford somebody threw an object which smashed the door window shattering it and covering our emergency medical technician and the childrens nurse, who was escorting the poorly patient, in shards of glass. Stephen Walker said: Hope these idiots realise one day it could be a member of their own family in the ambulance.

Paramedics are top class and they do best what theyre trained for and that is save lives. These idiots must stop damaging vehicles.

And Tracy Connor posted: Cannot believe what I have just read. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. I bet they would expect the ambulance to be there + ready for them if they needed it! Hope all are OK.
