Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will stay in separate hotels in the Windsor area on the night before the royal wedding, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

Ahead of the big day, Harry will stay at the Dorchester Collection's Coworth Park in Ascot, Berkshire, with his brother and best man Prince William.

His soon-to-be bride and her mother Doria Ragland will stay at the Cliveden House Hotel, which is roughly nine miles from Windsor.

Coworth Park describes itself as the "scenic route to five-star bliss".

William and Harry are likely to know the hotel well as the brothers play on its polo grounds every year.

The hotel's website states: "Coworth Park offers idyllic relaxation in many guises, from a rural detox to an indulgent, romantic escape.

"Here you'll find an experience to refresh every sense within our welcoming oasis of calm."

The Cliveden House website describes how the hotel has hosted "powerful personalities, debaucherous parties and scandalous affairs" for more than 350 years.

It was built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham as a gift to his mistress.

The privately owned Grade 1-listed stately home is surrounded by 376 acres of National Trust grounds.

It has also been revealed that Harry and Meghan will attend a garden party marking the Prince of Wales' 70th birthday patronage celebration just days after the wedding on Saturday.

Harry and Meghan will join Charles and Camilla at the event at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday 22 May, in their first official engagement as a married couple.

Clarence House said: "The event will celebrate the Prince of Wales' patronages and military affiliations as well as others involved in charities supported by the prince."

A number of cadets and emergency services personnel who were first responders after the terror attack at Manchester Arena last year will also attend the garden party, which takes place on the first anniversary of the atrocity.

The new wedding details were revealed after forecasters predicted it will be warm and sunny on the big day.

A Met Office spokesman said: "We have a good indication of what the weather is likely to be for the royal wedding – it is going to be mostly settled this week and that will continue on into the weekend.

"It will be mostly dry with sunny spells with perhaps a northerly or northeasterly breeze. We can't rule out a shower although to be honest that's looking quite unlikely at the moment.

"Temperatures will be about normal for the time of year with highs of 17 or 18 degrees and during the sunny spells it will feel pleasantly warm.

"It's looking like good weather for a wedding – you wouldn't want it to be too hot."
