Families looking for a free day out in Ireland, here's your chance.
Heritage sites managed by the Office of Public Works open for free on the first Wednesday of every month, for the duration of their season.
That means sites like Kilkenny Castle, which usually charges €20 for a family visit and Ross Castle in Killarney (pictured above, €13 for families), won't cost a cent to visit – subject to capacity, of course.
Tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid delays at some of the busier sites.
Here's the full list (those with an asterisk are open year-round; others may have seasonal opening hours). See heritageireland.ie for more.
