Canary Wharf, usually a bit of a glass and concrete wasteland, has been lit up in a spectacular fashion for the Winter Lights festival.
The exhibition features art and light installations set up in different sites across Canary Wharf, one of the two main financial districts in east London.
Visitors to the area have been interacting with the installations all day – including a massive bubble filled with light, Sonic Light Bubble, in Jubilee Plaza.
Some of the works use technology to show something different to every person who looks.
For example, Julius Popp’s Bit.Fall displays words taken from a live newsfeed on The Times website – which then drop down in a wall of water in Chancellor Passage.

And Marcus Lyall’s On Your Wavelength is ‘controlled by your mind’, via an EEG headset.
Apparently, as your thought patterns change the electrical data from your brain changes the music and light patterns of the installation – which has more than 30,000 LEDs.
The light festival is going to stay up across the Wharf until January 27.
