A Tory MP might want to do some more reading up on the history of her party after revealing her ‘living political hero’ is Margaret Thatcher.
Yes, living hero.
As you, unlike Rebecca Pow, may be aware, the Iron Lady passed away in April 2013.
The Taunton Deane MP made the gaffe on Radio 5 Live.
Interviewer John Pienaar replied: ‘Well, she’s not living.’
Ms Pow tried to save face by saying: ‘She is living! She’s right next to my bed at the moment because my husband in my Christmas stocking gave me a little book about her.
‘So at the moment she’s living with me every night.’
Rebecca Pow was elected in 2015.
In the BBC interview, she also insisted that Theresa May was doing a ‘great job’.
