Police have launched an investigation after a body was found so badly decomposed, they couldn’t tell if it was male or female.
Officers were called by a walker near Leeds city centre yesterday afternoon after the remains were discovered.

The body was so badly decayed that police could not immediately tell if the person was a man or woman, or what age they were.
However, it is now believed that the body may belong to a man.
It was found in the Cross Green area of Leeds, however it is not clear how long it has been there.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: ‘Inquiries are ongoing to try and identify who this person was.’

A post mortem is due to take place tomorrow.
