Identified only as Wang, 51, they managed to retrieve his right testicle after it was bitten off by wife Hsieh, 49.
She called an ambulance to their home in Taichung City, West Taiwan, shortly after 2am local time.
Paramedics described the couple as being in some state of distress when they found them waiting for help outside their flat.
Wang was said to have been wearing a robe and holding his testicle in a rice bowl while his wife kept saying ‘I accidentally bit it off’ over and over again.
He was taken to Tungs’ Taichung Metro Harbor Hospital where he was treated by surgeons.

Doctor Lu Li-hua said that his scrotum was stitched back up, but they were not able to re-attach his right testicle for fear of infection.
‘We were concerned that he would not be able to regain proper function of his testicle, which could lead to male infertility in the future,’ Doctor Li explained.
He is still in hospital recovering from what has been described as a ‘surge of excitement’.
