A teenager was left humiliated when staff at Costa allegedly said they wouldnt hire her because of her name.
Jordanna Ellsmore, 17, was looking for a part-time time job when she popped into her local coffee shop in Neath, Wales, with her CV on Monday, 4 June.

She said she had a friendly chat with staff at the cafe, who said although they werent hiring, they could try to find some hours for her.
But Jordanna was left horrified after she left the coffee shop to be told by a friend in the coffee shop that staff had been talking about her after she left – apparently saying they wouldnt hire her because of her name.
A friend messaged her saying: As soon as you walked out they all started taking the p*** out of your name, saying that your name lets you down and that they wont hire someone with a name like that.
Jordanna, from Glynneath, said: I was honestly humiliated. Im only 17 and I didnt understand that that stuff happened.

I know its a weird name, but its not very nice.
Since then Ive been hired and one of the first things my manager said was how much of a lovely name I had. It was a horrible thing to say.

She said: Weve spoken with the team locally who are really upset to learn they had offended a potential new team member.
The team were joking about another team member called Jordan in the store and it was absolutely not their intention to cause any distress or upset.
The area manager has since been in touch with Jordanna directly to apologised for any offence caused.
