With just over a week to go until the royal wedding, you may be deciding whether to watch from a beer garden or your sofa.

Every couple hopes for sun on their big day, and Meghan and Harry will be no different.

Luckily it seems like theyve picked the right time of year, and hopefully the day wont be a washout.

According to data from Monsoon, May is the second-driest month of the year (after April when Kate and Wills were wed) which might be part of the reason they chose this date.

After analysing 86 years of weather on this day, they found that the average rainfall was 1.5mm, but 2006 saw the highest rainfall of 12.5mm.

Over the past decade, only two years saw 19 May as wipe-outs, with heavy downpours not budging.

There might only have been three days of actual sunshine, but eight of the past 10 years have still had largely dry areas with sunny patches. And if there has been any rainfall, its been brief and travelling.

A dramatic ball gown, or a classic, simple silhouette? Sleeves, or bare shoulders? With less than a month to go until she marries Prince Harry at Windsor Castle on May 19, Meghan Markle most likely has already chosen her wedding dress - though what it looks like is expected to remain a top secret until the last minute. We cant always predict the exact weather that far ahead, but if the history of the day and the likeliness of rain is anything to go by, no umbrellas will be necessary.

Meghan and Harry are getting married in front of 800 wedding guests so its probably fairly unlikely the weather will be high on the former actress priority list when it comes to things to fret over.

Plus, if it does rain, no doubt the royal household will have a smooth back-up plan and guests wont have to get their hair drenched.
