A heavy-drinking son viciously pushed his 75-year-old mother after downing two bottles of vodka, causing her to break her wrist and finger.
Alexander Campbell, 51, of no fixed address, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on his mother on October 28, during a nasty confrontation.
Police later had to Taser him after he became difficult while being arrested, a court heard.
Jeremy Evans, prosecuting, told Grimsby Crown Court that Campbell lived with his mother at the time, but their relationship became difficult because of his drinking.
She was preparing food in the kitchen when her son, in a fit of pique, threw a pan of vegetables in the sink for no apparent reason.
He was abusive, and when she challenged him about his behaviour, he forcefully pushed her, causing her to fall and use her hands to break her fall.

She suffered fractures of the wrist and a finger, as well as grazes and sore shoulders.
Campbell admitted breaching a one-year non-molestation order on December 12 by going round to her home in Grimsby.
The order had been imposed at the family court on November 22 and there had been another incident on December 8.
He had convictions for 12 previous offences.
Andrew Bailey, mitigating, said that it was a push, not a violent punch or kick.
