A young father killed himself just a week after he split up with the mother of his only son following his arrest over an assault.
James Tannian, 26, had sent a goodbye text to Amelia Ashworth following a Facetime video call with her and their seven month old son Albie.
In his message Mr Tannian said he wanted to be a better person but felt he did not live up to peoples expectations.
He was later found hanged at his family home in Lytham St Annes, Lancs, by his brother-in-law Richard Harrison who had to break down the patio doors to gain entry to the house. His parents were on holiday at the time.
An inquest heard the tragedy occurred on June this year after Mr Tannian lost his job and became estranged from Miss Ashworth following the assault which took place two months earlier and which resulted in him being electronically tagged.

He had vowed to change and get his family back together and on the evening of his death he called Miss Ashworth and his sister Chloe Harrison on Facetime.
Injunctions are being abused and sexual harassment victims silenced, and that has to stop
Miss Ashworth said: There was a couple of things troubling him. What he had done previously, he was just sorry – he was just constantly sorry. We finished our relationship literally on the Sunday before.
We were messaging all day and he said in the afternoon could he see Albie after work, I was going out for tea so I said Id take him on my way home.
We continued to text each other on that evening. He was saying that he wanted to change but he just didnt know how, then he was saying that he wanted to be dead. I just sort of shook it off, I didnt really think that he would.
He said he would see Albie the next day. He said “love you”, I didnt put the camera on myself because I couldnt face it, the camera was on Albie the whole time. I looked at my phone at 10:31. I saw the text and text Chloe as soon as I read it.
Miss Harrison told the Blackpool hearing: In the last six months prior to his death, he had some troubles. He had split up with his girlfriend, lost his job and then he was on this curfew.

Whatever James was feeling, he tended to not show it. We did say to him if there was anything he wanted to talk about wed always be there for him. He said during the call that he wanted his family back and wanted to make things right, I said we were just waiting for us to talk to us and come to us if there was anything he wanted to talk about.
Recording a verdict of suicide, coroner Clare Doherty said: He was struggling emotionally at the time of his death, he was very worried about the break up of his relationship. It is clear that he wanted to get back with his ex-partner and he was a very loving father. He had lost his job and became subject to a curfew and it is clear that these things had an effect on him.
It is clear that James loved his son and loved his ex-partner which is clear in the last text that he sent. He did not show his feelings to people and it seems to me that things were playing on his mind perhaps more than people realised.
On the night of his death, he spoke to his sister, brother-in-law and ex-partner, mostly he seemed quite normal in manner and was not overtly distressed. The texts are acrimonious at times but there did not seem to be any trigger to suggest that someone would take such a drastic attempt.

The last text he sent to his ex-partner suggests that he wanted to be a better person and feels that he did not live up to peoples expectations. At the time he took the action he did he was feeling low in a time of hopelessness.
I think this has been a spontaneous action by James in a moment of hopelessness when he has felt overwhelmed in life events.
