A body has been found in a graveyard in the search for a missing 15-year-old schoolboy.

A man?s body has been found in a car pulled from a Northumberland reservoir. Police think the car may have smashed through a fence at Whittle Dene Reservoir before entering the water. Ambulance crews raced to the Heddon-on-the-Wall scene this morning as police divers scoured the water. A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: ?At about 9.30am today (Thursday, June 7), police received a report of concern after a member of the public saw a damaged fence and vehicle debris located near to Whittle Dene Reservoir in Heddon-on-the-Wall, Northumberland. He had told his father he was returning to school, but never made it there and did not return that night.

The body was discovered at 12.45pm today by a member of the public at St John the Evangelist Church in Lower Church Road, Burgess Hill.

Superintendent James Collis, of Sussex Police, said: Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Elido at this tragic time.

We have officers supporting the family at this time and the family have asked for privacy.

The body has yet to be formally identified, but police believe it is Elido.

The coroner has been informed.
