A judge told the pensioner, who has Alzheimers, that he may die in prison after he was sent to jail for 14 years.

Wolten, of Bridewell Court, Peel House Lane, Widnes, will serve a minimum of seven years and will only be released before he is 95 if a parole board decides he is no longer a risk.

The victim explained to Liverpool Crown Court how he bottled up the memories for years.

This led to serious health problems, he said, including auditory hallucinations.

He said: I could hear my attackers voice but do not see him. He tells me hes going to come and get me.

The victim sobbed in the public gallery as prosecutor Martine Snowdon read his harrowing statement.

Wolten also targeted a second boy, 15, by touching him in a car while three unsuspecting adults were present.

He had denied any wrongdoing, claiming his two victims were lying, but was found guilty of rape and seven counts of indecent assault.

Judge David Aubrey QC said Wolten ruined the life of the first victim.

The judge said: Life was unbearable. He has been harbouring such thoughts, anxiety and anguish for years.

You took away his innocence, you have destroyed his childhood and you have done much more than that.

You have scarred your victim emotionally and psychologically for the rest of his life.
