Meghan Markles closest aide has quit just six months after the royal wedding, according to reports.
The departure of her personal assistant, known only as Melissa, has come as quite a shock to the Palace, it is claimed.
A source told the Daily Mail: Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?
Kensington Palace has declined to comment on the reports but has paid tribute to the outgoing PA.
Melissa is a hugely talented person, the source says. She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household.

News of the departure comes as more details emerged about the run up to the wedding in Royal biographer Robert Jobsons new book Charles at 70.

The preparations were said to be so stressful that Harry became petulant and short-tempered with members of staff.
He reportedly told them What Meghan wants, she gets.
It emerged yesterday that the Queen had to step in when Meghan demanded a tiara containing green emeralds, which may have come from Russia.
A source close to the family said: There was a very heated exchange that prompted the Queen to speak to Harry. She said; “Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara shes given by me, according to the Sun.

The source added: The Queen also questioned why Meghan needed a veil for the wedding, given it was to be her second marriage, and added that Meghan can be difficult.
In the week ahead of the wedding, Meghans father Thomas Markle was pictured staging photographs with members of the paparazzi.
In the embarrassing fallout, he decided not to attend the wedding and Prince Charles stepped in to walk his new daughter-in-law down the aisle.
Other members of Meghans family have complained they were not invited to the nuptials on May 19th at Windsor Castle.
Mr Markle continued to give interviews about his daughter and Harry and the families are now estranged.
It is believed pregnant Meghan, 37, hasnt spoken to him since the wedding.
