The sad thing is when the police are anywhere for a long time after someone has entered the water you know it isnt going to be good news.

So young, my thoughts are with her family at this heartbreaking time. I know how it feels losing someone close as my dad recently passed away and that was of natural causes.

Fosdyke resident Janet Barnett, 62, said: Helicopters had been circling the area most of the morning.

I could see them from my back garden. Its so sad when you hear a young woman has lost her life, its absolutely tragic for those left behind.

The marsh is always so peaceful so I knew something had happened.

Fosdyke resident Jenny Matthews, 28, added: She isnt much older than myself so I may even know of her. It makes your heart sink when you hear this.

A mum of three, who wished to remain anonymous, added: I have a 35-year-old daughter and I would be beside myself so I my thoughts are with the family of this young woman.

Officials have confirmed they are not treating her death as suspicious and say her next of kin has been informed.

A spokesman for Skegness RNLI has issued warnings to anyone walking their dog near water.

He said: Never go into the water after your pet. Call 999 who will put you through to the coastguard. Dogs are strong swimmers, much stronger than us, so will come back eventually.
