A ferry company has managed to offend its travellers by telling them to wear deadorant.

Condor has been criticised for judging its passengers in a list of 10 rules included in the companys travel etiquette guide.

What are the storm names in the UK for 2018 and how are they chosen?

As well as watching your hygiene you should also make sure you dont have too much fun or engage in eating near other people, with other rules including no loud chewing and no loud laughter.

The company has faced a backlash on social media, including one passenger publishing 10 golden rules for being a good ferry company in response.

Condors chief executive said he hoped the rules would create a harmonious environment on board its ferries but it appears that may have gone over the heads of those online.

A picture taken on August 18, 2014 shows the Saint-Malo based 86-meter "Condor Rapide" fast catamaran-ferry arriving at the Saint-Malo harbour. The ferry links Saint-Malo to the islands of Jersey and Guernesey, as well as the southern mainland coast of Britain. It was built at the Hobart shipyard in Australia between 1996 et 1997, and carries up to 741 passengers and 175 cars. No loud chewing

Condor said it followed a survey by One Poll to develop its rules, which sampled 2,000 adults online.

Jonny Freeman tweeted: Not sure its really Condors place to talk about hygiene.

Another passenger @jviddy published 10 golden rules for being a good ferry company in response on Twitter.

They included run on time, dont cancel future sailings at random when people have holidays booked, and answer your phones.

The firm, which runs between the Channel Islands, France, Portsmouth and Poole, has come under fire for delays in recent years.

Chief executive Paul Luxon said: We have not developed our guide to take the fun out of travelling, quite the contrary.

We hope our guide will play a useful role in creating a harmonious environment, not just on our ferries, but on other forms of public transport too.

Its not the first time the ferry company has made an interesting choice when it came to customer interaction.

In 2015 Condor released the cringiest and possibly most irritating safety video of all time.

Like a nightmare set at the Eurovision Song Contest, the video walks Condor Ferries passengers through the dos and donts with a rap to the tune Good Times.

Forgotten it? Dont worry – you can view the awfulness here.
