Is this the moment when the Yanny/Laurel meme finally went too far?
Yes, probably.
The US Air Force jumped on board, with someone from their social media team deciding it would be funny to compare the audio illusion to dropping an actual bomb on people.
They posted on Twitter: The Taliban forces in Farah city, Afghanistan, would much rather have heard #Yanny or #Laurel than the deafening #BRRRT they got courtesy of of #A10.
The post linked to a story in Air Force Times boasting that air strikes had eliminated 28 Taliban fighters in Farah on May 15, as they tried to prevent the city falling to Islamist control.
Tenuous at best, and not exactly hilarious.

The tweet has been deleted, and a spokesman has apologised for the misjudged tweet.

In case you somehow missed it, the Yanny or Laurel debate swept the internet with people divided into two camps over which word they could hear.
Apparently, younger people are more likely to hear Yanny because its at a higher frequency.
It has gone hugely viral, with another audio illusion following it which might be even more confusing, asking if you can hear brain storm or green needle (youll almost certainly be able to hear both).
The phenomenon is very interesting, but probably best as a psychological curiosity rather than a joke about military capacity.
