Someone thought it was a good idea to load up their truck until it was about burst.

The police were not impressed and immediately took the vehicle off the road after they spotted it on Moss Street, in Cannock, Staffordshire.

The lorry, which was loaded with office furniture and a bicycle, was stopped at around 2.45pm yesterday afternoon.

Officers immediately led the driver to a nearby scrapyard so he could deposit the material.

For safety, it was taken on blue light convoy to the nearest scrap yard.

The vehicle was then recovered and the driver reported for a number of traffic offences.

The Central Motorway Police Group decided to make an example of the driver by tweeting out a photo of the overladen vehicle, which was also faulty.

And of course people took the opportunity to mock the driver.
