Pork pie ice cream exists and we don’t know what to think.
The Pork Pie-Scream comes courtesy of Pieminster, a pie shop based in Brixton Market.
It comes in celebration of British Pie Week, which runs from 5-11 March.
The dessert features soft serve vanilla ice cream mixed with Bourbon maple syrup and free-range British bacon, which comes served in a waffle cone ‘pie crust’ and garnished with pork scratchings and applesauce.
Pieminster co-founder Tristan Hogg told the Evening Standard that the salty and sweet concoction works perfectly together.
He said: ‘It’s been great fun to turn our pie-making hands to something else for a change.
‘The combination of sweet vanilla, bourbon and maple syrup works brilliantly with tart applesauce and salty bacon.’
If you’re not totally sold on the pork pie ice cream – Pieminster, which is located in Brixton Market, also serves up other pie ice creams – including Mud Pie, Apple Pie and Cherry Pie.
Though let’s face it, the pork pie ice cream is at least worth a try.
