A 12-year-old girl has died after being taunted by school bullies for years.

Rachel Stevens was rushed to hospital after falling ill at her Burnbank, Hamilton home in Scotland on Friday, but despite efforts by emergency services she didnt make it.

The family of the St John Ogilvie High School pupil has been left with a massive hole in their heart over the sudden the death.

A local newspaper claimed Rachel, who was due to turn 13 this week, had been the victim of school bullies for a number of years.

It reported: This little angel had her full life ahead of her.

What makes this tragic loss all the more shocking are the events which led up to it.

Sadly, it is known Rachel had been bullied since Primary 7, something which followed her to High School.

Bullies were calling her “fat” and other taunts, which from peers had a devastating impact on Rachels well-being.

A family friend has set up a GoFundMe page for Rachel, which says: A tragic loss of a beautiful young girl Rachel Stevens.

Only 12 years old and her full life ahead of her. Her family are absolutely devastated and she has left a massive hole in their heart.

This page has been setup to help the family at this heartbreaking time.

The family cant begin to think about their loss but knowing that people are out there who care about whats happened, Im sure will be such a comfort to them.

A police spokeswoman said they were called on Friday around 7pm to reports that Rachel had taken unwell in their Hamilton flat.

The spokeswoman continued: She was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital.

A post-mortem will be conducted in due course, but we are not treating the death as suspicious.

The family have been overwhelmed with all of your generosity.

As you can imagine this has been the hardest and most difficult time and the family will endure but hopefully they take comfort on all the amazing support they have received on behalf of this beautiful girl.
