A sweet new video campaign narrated by a four-year-old boy aims to make Sligos Strandhill a prime staycation destination this summer.

Four year-old Michael tells the story of his familys magical holiday to Strandhill where he learned to surf, found a secret beach, and climbed Knocknarea mountain.

In the video “My Strandhill”, he says: “I loved it so much because I got to spend lots of time with my mum and dad.”

“We climbed a mountain with a warrior queen buried at the top. We drove to an island in the middle of the sea.”

“I stood up on a surf board and rode my first wave. We found a secret beach and had to walk through a forest to get there.”

He added: “I thought the sea was on fire but mom said it was just the sun going to bed.”

Strandhill, located on the Coolera Peninsula, is a surf village on the Wild Atlantic Way where five surf schools offer daily surf lessons from the beachfront.

The village is also home to the well-known Shells Cafe, the Drafthouse and the newly opened Stoked Restaurant.

Voya Seaweed Baths also offer hour-long sessions to indulge in a hot steaming bath by the sea, Salt & Soul Yoga Studio offers classes and retreats, and Strandhill Golf Club offers an 18 hole links golf course overlooking the Atlantic.
