Anyone fancy going for a pint in The Trump Arms this weekend?

Its hardly a name suited for a traditional British boozer – but this pub in London has undergone a last minute makeover ahead of a certain tourists visit this weekend.

Decked out with American flags, its clear the pub is welcoming US President Donald Trump on his visit to Britain.

The Jameson in Kensington has transformed into the Trump Arms, and landlord Damien Smyth said the country should welcome the controversial leader.

He told The Independent: We have to have huge respect for this man, and for the sacrifices he has made.

He didnt need to become president. He was already a billionaire. But he sacrificed his lifestyle, he gave up a huge amount of freedom to help his country and help the world.

The Trump Arms will hold a special opening on Friday followed by a £32-a-head party on Saturday.

Thousands of police will be on duty to cover the visit, during which Mr Trump will visit Blenheim Palace, Chequers, Windsor Castle, the US ambassadors official residence in Regents Park, London, and Scotland.

But it is thought Mr Trump will avoid central London, where protesters are set to take to the streets and a controversial balloon depicting him as a giant baby will be flown near Westminster.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Shead, from the National Police Co-ordination Centre, said: Police forces are working together on a significant, multi-faceted security operation supporting the presidential visit to the UK.

Nearly all police forces in England and Wales are providing officers and resources to assist with the operations in areas hosting the visit.
