WESSEX NEWS AGENCY Jim Hardy email news@britishnews.co.uk mobile 07501 221880 STORY CATCHLINE: WASHING A town was in uproar today after a single mum got an email from local traders ordering her not to hang her washing outside because it lowers the tone of the neighbourhood. Claire Mountjoy posted the email on Facebook and she's been deluged with messages of support from residents in Colyton, a town with just over 2,000 residents located three miles inland from the seaside resort of Seaton, Devon. Many are so outraged by the order that they have started hanging their washing outside their homes in support of Claire, who lives with her boys in a tiny terraced house. This morning the revolt was spreading fast, with dozens of homes across the town sporting lines and racks of washing blowing gaily in the breeze outside people's houses. Screeching to a halt, he jumped a fence before breaking the boys fall as he shot to the ground – injuring his own arm and shoulder in the process.

The act has drawn comparisons to Le Superman Mamoudou Gassama, who became an international hero after scaling a Parisian building to save a child hanging from a balcony.

Zahreddine, from Basildon, Essex, said: I was driving to the mosque when I noticed a couple looking up.

I got very scared and imagined it was my own baby daughter so I stopped my car immediately, ran over and jumped the fence then positioned myself underneath the child along with another man who had come to help.

We asked him to try and climb back in but he was too tired. I dont know how long he had been hanging there.

Within two minutes, the kid became tired and let go. He landed in my arms and luckily we were able to catch him in a way that he was not injured. Its so lucky we were there to catch him.

He said: When he landed on me, my arm got kind of twisted. The doctor bandaged it up and said I must rest it for three weeks.

It was so fortunate we were there. It makes you realise that everything happens for a reason.
